Fish for sale (Open RP)

An old man sits at the edge of a river, fishing. He has a small camp set up nearby. His clothes are baggy and warm, appropriate for the cool fall weather. He has a large floppy hat and a scruffy beard. A small sign next to him says "FISH FOR SALE" and is written on old wooden boards in thick white paint and a steady but uncareful lettering style.

An elderly woman shuffled up to the sign and squinted at it. The elderly woman then squinted at the old man. She adjusted the mounds of bags that she carried upon her crooked back, the weight made her bend forward.

"..Y'seem to have taken my spot, sonny. Move."

She was trying to sound authoritative, but the authority was gone when she started coughing as if her lungs were trying to escape.

The old man glared from under the brim of his hat. "Yer' scarin' the fish away." he bit harder on his pipe and drew a deep breath of tobacco.

[Pales]

The elderly woman was most insulted that he didn't move. As soon as she recovered from her coughing fit she straightened up as much as she could, "Ya idjit. Ya can't sell fish if ya ain't got any."

"'Sides! I went to tha city hall and got a permit for this exact spot!" A wrinkly, knobby hand held up a parchment detailing the exact spot the man was currently in.

[LeoGrun]

"Er, lady, they don't give out permits fer' that. The river is free, it's nature!" In his exasperation the man snatched the parchment. It was not a fishing permit, but an old treasure map.

"Eh, Lady... did ya' really get this from city hall? Like they gave it out? Ya didn't steal it from the records library or anythin'...?"

[Pales]

"BUT YOU ARE SELLING THE FISH YOU CATCH, MISTER." Came an exasperated screech.

The screech was silenced when he snatched the map from her. . . . . . .

"...Give that back. You took the wrong paper," even though she was pretty much holding it out to him.

"That is some nonsense my grandson drew." She hoped it was believable.
